Magic:
Mages can only learn magic of elements which are part of their nature. All beings have a nature, and a mage can use this to his or her advantage in a fight.
However, casting magic is not natural to most species, including Humes and Elves. To learn magic they must learn magic from series of tomes. These tomes are numbered, and you can only learn them in a specific order.
When a mage learns from their first book of magic, they are known as a Monomage of the first order. As they learn from more books of magic of the same element their order goes up (second order, third order).
When they learn from a book of a different element they then become a bimage of the first order, and their order then goes up in conjunction with the lowest level of magic they have learned.
They then become Trimages with their third element and Polymages from the fourth.
It is currently unknown what the highest tome number is, but it is believed to be somewhere in the fifties.
The are eight elements and each have their own colour influence. Fire (Red), Water (Blue), Earth (Brown), Wind (Green), Ice (Light blue), Lightning (Purple), Darkness (Black) and Light (White).
People's natural elements are often shown in the colour of the clothes they wear (even if they are not aware of it.)
